Often they're doing this while also holding down a full-time job to pay the bills.There also many professionals in this industry who have chosen to be here, knowing that it in many cases it dramatically reduces their salary.I mention all this because it's also relevant to the topic of the thread - I was working as deputy to a director at a large corporation, expected to move up to that director role, when March 2017 I saw an opportunity to drop all of that and work on a contract basis for a website called D&D Beyond, from pre-launch, so I did and I have never regretted the decision.Over the last 7 years, I have worked alongside so many colleagues who have similar stories.There's always some unpleasant people in every industry, but on the whole, the TTRPG industry is built by people who have passion & love for the games.</blockquote>
