Trust me, I get not wanting to deal with such people. I haven't had to deal with anti LGBTQ+ bigotry directed at me as I am not part of that community (I do have two friends and three people whom are like relatives that are, plus another relative, now deceased, that was). However, I have had to deal with bigots with regards to ethnicity and religion which is why I wrote not to take my view that everyone who sits at a gaming table with a nazi isn't necessarily a nazi to mean that I will knowingly invite or sit at the gaming table with someone I know is a nazi, white supremist, etc. Nor do I feel anyone part of a marginalized group should feel obligated to do so. At the same time, I do, however, respect people whom are willing to go that extra mile. This is due in part to my having seen gaming change the attitude of someone whom was bigoted towards African-Americans. When I invited the person to my gaming table, I had no idea of his beliefs. It never came up in our interactions away from gaming. It also never came up during our roleplaying sessions. It wasn't until he singled out my best friend and another close friend (both African-Americans) as being really cool guys. The way he said it, despite the sincerity, raised an eyebrow. After learning about his background and limited interactions with African-Americans, it was evident that his experiences with the group challenged his pre-concieved perceptions. Now, if I had known of his beliefs before he joined, would I have invited him? Hell,no. I would not have invited him. I would never have even been friends with the guy. I am glad, however, that the experience gave him a new outlook and friends he would not have made otherwise.
