He was an unusaul child. Almost never had the Elder Dwarfs seen such a lively child. His parents had such trouble controlling the young Gurd, that on an early age they send him to learn the ways of the Smith. They thought that with hard work and little distraction, Gurd would grow up as an ordinary Dwarf. </p><p></p><p>His talent for the work was great. He pounded on the metal for days without tiring one bit. He could have been one of the best weapon and armorsmiths if only he didn't have such peppery mind.</p><p></p><p>The years of learning the ways of being a Smith fell hard upon young Gurd. The rigid way of the Dwarfs began to take their toll on his young mind. he would get into fights with his fellow students, which, by the way, he would always win. The teachers would give him harsh and disciplenery punishment that took away the last of his hope that he could live among the Dwarfs in their mountainhomes. </p><p></p><p>When he finished his studyday, Gurd would sneak out his bed and heat up the Forge. There he made the Armour and Hammer he uses today. It was constructed as only the best Smiths could. The night he would finish his armour he took the bread and water he saved over the last weeks and walked to the Workplace. He worked almost all night to lay the final hand on his armour and his hammer. After finishing his work, he cleaned the anvil and his workplace. He put on his armour and hung his hammer on his back. When he walked his last steps in his birthplace and took his first steps on the road that would get him away from all this, he could see the sun come up to guide him on his new beginning.</p></blockquote><p></p>
