The Sims: House Party

Anyone know of any good sites online that sell used copies of games? Seri is looking for The Sims: House Party, and the $29 EB charges for used copies is a little much.

Also, I'm sure she'd be willing to buy a copy if anyone wants to sell theirs (or Superstar :p).

I never really got into the Sims. Too bad I gave away my copies of House Party, Livin' Large, and Hot Date. :) (I had a pirated copy of the base game. :) ) Try contacting ThomasBJJ on these boards and see if he still has them available.

Just how many expansions have been released for this game, anyway? That's the biggest obstacle to me trying it again.

The Sims
Livin' Large
House Party
Hot Date
Vacation
Superstar
Unleashed (pets for the Sims)
Making Magic

I know you can get the first three in the Double Deluxe set, but that still leaves, what, five others to buy? That's at least $130, and possibly up to $200 or more.

Blech...

Well, bear in mind, all those expansions came out over a period of 3 years or so. And it's not unusual for the most recent expansion to go on sale for $20 from time to time at Best Buy or Circuit City.

Anyway, I managed to lose my House Party disc and so had to buy a new one recently. The best I was able to do was $17 (total) on ebay. Unfortunately for buyers, there is a huge demand for them (as well as a huge supply).

Sims 2 should be out soon. Then you should be able to buy the whole shebang for the price of a single game. That's what I'm hoping, anyway. I never got past Livin' Large, myself.

Anyone know of the trustworthiness of places that sell the games out of Thailand and Singapore? It's been my general principle to not buy games from outside the country, but the prices are unbeatable... And I suspect there's probably a reason why...

Any idea on when Sims 2 will hit the shelves? Because I can wait if it isn't too long. Unless the repeat the whole shebang by releasing one expansion after another...

Well, I'm sure your suspicions are correct. From what I understand most piracy rings, if they're not out of Hong Kong, operate out of Singapore. I wouldn't risk it.

GameFAQs has it listed as coming out on February 14th, 2004. Of course, in the world of gaming, release dates aren't exactly a science, but that's probably indicative of the earliest it'll come out.

Dear god!

Sims 2 has a very high rating on Amazon.

Several months before it has been released...

Argh, I hate fanboi reviews... (As bad as the pre-release reviews for Master of Orion 3, for instance. :) )
