@darkbard , yup. You're on it (y) As you noted, it wasn't Primary Check Arcana (was Secondary). I've fixed with a strikethrough in the post above. Also, if you look at the lead post for this SC, the staged successes are 4, then 6 (for 10 total), then 2 (for 12 total). Given that we've been so intermittent, it reads a little confusing as I go back through it! Easy enough inference when you're in the midst of it, but when you're out, it takes a little puzzling at it! As such, I've amended the post above (and this one below) to reflect total successes for the staged goal. Also, I need to bring in a Chronotope complication, so I'm going to do that now with your above action declaration invoking Nerull, Time Reaper, Stasis in Shackles. See the * add-on to the below. 6/12 Successes (2 Hard DC available)/0 Failures/4 Secondary Skill Available/6 Advantages available) Stage 2 Goal (10 successes) Navigate the hazards, perils, and denizens of Vezzevu's Depths. 1 situation/obstacle will be a combat with the denizens where either (a) defeat or (b) escape is Win Con for success.

Only Chanvati is shunted to a dimensional pocket and the temporal effects are such that the others don't even register his leaving, as the meeting with "Avandra" in her nexus takes place well inside the blink of an eye. Suspended in space for a moment, the merchant-prince levitates slowly downward to an obscured, misty surface below him that has the soft feel of loose pebbles. In this soupy fog, a simple wooden cane is animated before him. As it taps the ground below it twice, the mist scatters, revealing possibilities of journey and perils within. 1) A remnant colony of ascetic Salamanders, buried deep in this burning, molten place, the descendants of refugees from the destruction of their empire at the The Battle of the Scoria Partition so long ago. The strange images you see reveal the typical fare of monks that you are used to; humble accommodations, a life of chores, contemplation, and a strange choir of throat-singing that can only be performed by the vocal apparatus of such creatures. They might grant you passage, or guidance...or swift death for the legacy of your heritage in the fall of their empire? The strange image pans upwards to the dark recesses of the huge cavern...something lurks there...watchful...expectant (* an agent of Nerull no doubt) 2) The second is in the lair of The Duchess itself <resolving the Skill Challenge>. However, such an intervention by her hand in the matters of Time and the looming prospects of Death would draw the watchful, wrathful eye of Nerull (*). If you do, it will be MEDIUM DC to discover what foulness of Nerull lies in that dark. If you fail, Nerull will sense your presence in this pocket dimension, and the follow-on obstacle will entail a HARD DC freebie for me.
