He wasn't flying and he was parallel to the pane.  On closer inspection he was caught in a spider's web. The Spider who spun that web as a third the dragonfly's size and was intent on eating like the proverbial King. He went down, bit the dragonfly, who beat its wings in an effort to be free. The spider then changed tactics, anchored a strand of web on the dragonfly's wings and then fastened it to the web. He went down for inspection and then anchored a second strand. He did this a total of four times. The dragonfly was caught and the spider went in for the kill. The Spider then proceeded to drag the dragonfly up the window towards the top corner, where it proceeded to drink the dragonfly from it's tail, not yet incasing it in webbing. After an hour or so it dragged the dragonfly higher on the pane and then started to wrap it up, binding the dragonfly's wings to its body (which by now had curled on itself).With the wings bound, the spider took a rest. Then the wasp came. I'm not entirely sure what happened, because I saw movment from the dragonfly and thought it was just the spider working, then I saw the wings. I took a closer look and saw a wasp perched the on fly, fighting with the spider. The spider was no doubt defending its food and looking to score another victim. It had about four legs that I could see wrapped around the wasp's body.The wasp was not easilly caught and beat its wings violently when it hit the window, pulling away...and taking the spider with it. The spider clung on to the wasp as the wasp flew eradicilly trying to shake it's lethal passenger. Unfortunatly I do not know who was the victor as the wasp and the spider flew out of sight around the corner. Before I left, I noticed that the, the dragonfly's body disappeared; it either fell from the pane or some other creature took off with it. It was as pretty cool and it made me wish I had a camcorder to record it with (it was a really slow day...)</blockquote>
