An observer must succeed on a DC 20 Spot check to notice the gargoyle is really alive.</p><p> <strong> Skills:</strong> Gargoyles have a +2 racial bonus on Hide, Listen, and Spot checks. *Hide bonus increases by +8 when a gargoyle is concealed against a background of stone.</p><p> The stone devils natural weapons are treated as magic weapons for the purpose of overcoming damage reduction.</p><p> <strong>Description:</strong></p><p> The stone devil appears to be a large winged statue. It often is remaining motionless in front of a fancy building, looking like a statue, and waiting for some prey.</p><p> The stone devil speaks Common and Terran.</p><p> </p><p> <strong>Tactics:</strong></p><p> The stone devil is quite confident in its abilities and underestimates its opponents. It waits for someone to pass by it into melee range and surprises that opponent attacking with as many attacks as possiable. If people walk by it without coming close, if they look like good prey the stone devil will fly out to attack them.</p><p> The stone devil will then continue to focus on its inital target unless the target flees and there is another target nearby. The stone devil trys to get full attacks in but will move up to fight if no foes are within reach.</p><p> If the stone devil is reduced below 50 hitpoints it will fly up and do a few flights over the battle field throwing the beads from its necklace of missles before returing to melee. It does not know how valuable its necklace is only that it makes fireballs.</p><p> If reduced to 15 hitpoints or less it will try to fly away and escape. It will then set itself up in a different region hoping that news of its defeat will not spread, and that its defeaters don’t find it again.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> Please post if you use this.</p></blockquote><p></p>
