While Devlin spoke, Wilbur and Enialis struggled a bit more. "You lousy, stinking, I'll rip your head off!", exclaimed the little man. "I'll! I'll!"...and then he slumped, silent in Enialis's arms, overcome by his injury and his exertions. The innkeeper seemed suspicious at first, but Devlin's demeanor and mention of Officer Vagan won him over. "Well, I don't think he'll be any more trouble, and ye woudn't want to have that out when the Watch shows up. Why don't ye let Timbor here see to him, and ye can come over to the bar and have a drink to steady ye'r nerves." Enialis laid the unconscious thug on the floor, and the broad-shouldered bouncer started tending to him. As the trio of adventurers wandered over to the bar area, the innkeeper strode to the middle of the common room and announced to the terrified merchants huddled in the corners, "My apologies for this unfortunate disturbance. As you can see, everything is well in hand. The authorities will be here any moment. Once this is sorted out, the Tower Inn would like to extend the courtesy of the evening meal tonight, no charge to anyone who had to witness this unfortunate event." Seeing that the danger had largely passed and that the promise of a free meal beckoned, all but a couple of the patrons resumed their places at the tables and their conversation. The two most frightened found some other place to be. Devlin found the Tower's strong drink to be fine stuff, indeed. "I hope yer next encounter with Officer Vagan goes smoother than the last one", offered the innkeeper.[sblock=OoC: ]Some killer rolls there, Dungannon. Made it by that much![/sblock]
