He couldn't even see that it's supposed to be part of a thumb, because he's just too small compared to it. He can never really look at his adversary unless she's a million miles away. It's like standing right in front of Mt. Everest with your nose to the stone and trying to see the whole mountain or even just enough of the mountain to get a rough idea that it's anything than a flat wall without moving back.</blockquote>
