As far as I know, the only person he's actually pissed off was the hermit dude? The boat people? I thought it just good sense that a little old guy out in the middle of the ocean where slavers operate preying upon his people wouldn't be hopping into their clutches and leaving his only financially sustainable profession stuff behind him. The woman and child on the beach? What did Shuelsai do to tick them off besides be pleasant? The "hermit" dude was just a pompous jerk. Sorry, the "I don't have time for being pleasant, because you're important if you do what I tell you to do and you listen to whatever I tell you - else you're an unimportant loser," only works in movies. I think your basic problem with Shuelsai seems to be that he's A. Not going to accept someone telling him something is important just because they say it is. B. Doesn't have any reasons to trust anyone, he's on a mission from the gods and he expects to be led astray if he lets people. C. Is more inclined to believe in gods and omens than men in general - he's older than everyone else so he acts older, he's not young enough to want or need a mentor or so trusting to place his trust in those that place themselves upon his path and seem to wish to divert it for some reason. So, to recap: You sent ships, Shuelsai saw slavers to keep him from reaching his goal. You sent a mountain, Shuelsai saw an omen from the gods and followed it. You sent a river, Shuelsai saw the gods leading him toward the mountain. You sent women & children, Shuelsai saw omens. You sent a rude old guy, Shuelsai saw the Devil obviously meant to lead him away from his path. :D I don't know that Shuelsai really needs to be sent anywhere. I've always sort of figured we were all getting to the right place already and that you were going to do the whole "gosh, there's a whole lot of other people going the same direction as you are" schtick. Is he going the wrong direction? Everything Shuelsai knows says that he should be heading toward a mountain somewhere to the South, with snow on it. He's willing to check out every mountain as a indication of some performance of this testing, but he'd be cool if the mountain just showed up - which he's confident currently that it has, even if it hasn't. :D But anyways, I'm not in a big rush to join up with everyone in any case. I glance over at what everyone else is up to occasionally and it involves fighting! Shuelsai is a lover, not a fighter ;)
