A long time ago, shortly after the 3.0 Psionics Handbook came out, this Chad Hale was known as PsiAndCo on the WotC boards (note that my only evidence to support this is that Mr. Hale's e-mail address is psiandco@...). Now, a lot of people were complaining at the time about how much 3.0 psionics sucked (complaints I feel were justified), but PsiAndCo was the most vocal of the bunch. He ranted, some would say he raved, he said he'd create and sell his own psionics system, and was eventually kicked from the WotC boards. Now, I followed this system of his for quite a while. It was different, it was cool, and it was nothing like the D&D magic system. He released previews, character sheets and such. It was of professional quality, and was playtested a lot. But things kept getting delayed because he absolutely wanted to release his product in print, not .pdf, and that's a costly endeavour. And then 3.5 came out, so he took the time to update his system to that. After years of waiting, news was sparse, and then the Expanded Psionics Handbook came out. This was good enough for me, but I would return to PsiAndCo's Yahoo group for his project every 3 months or so. When the last post was something like 2 years old, maybe a year ago, there was finally news. PsiAndCo was back, and still wanted to release his system. I assume this "Tome of Psionics" is that system. I really couldn't care less what he says, but I've been waiting 5-6 years for this psionics system, so I sincerely hope it really comes out.
