It was the very first game I ever ran, and it was back in the days of 2nd edition. The party consisted of a mixed bunch, and none of them had any reason to stick together once they completed their quest. That's what led into my running solo games, because not a one of them wanted to stop playing their characters.Within the last couple of years, that ranger paired up with another player, and pretty soon, they'll be pairing up with two, possibly three more, specifically for the City of the Spider Queen module. The other two players that are ready to join the game already have their characters built and their back stories completely fleshed out, which I weaved into the main plot line. It was a lot of work, but I gotta tell ya', one of those players created the most fleshed out character I have ever seen, and he did it without any roleplay to date.
