Well, that would have to do. Oirhandir really didn't want to trouble Rupert any more than he already had, and if Rogier hadn't already pursued this, maybe they would just have to be careful. He glanced at the halfling and at Almayce, and wondered if either of them would hold up to a bite better than Calamar had. With more than a hint of conciliation, Oirhandir replied, "Well, let's hope he gets here soon, then." The bard reached into the last of the packs, verifying what provisions they had and trying to memorize where they were all stowed. Wrapped carefully in a cloth container were six small vials, with a note in a florid script that read, "Anti-toxin. Especially Useful For Countering the Effects of Poisonous Snake Venom. S. Boortman, Apothecary." The tips of the young elf's ears turned scarlet in the still morning air. "Ah," he stammered, holding up one of the vials, "Our host seems to have anticipated our need." ("In his usual way", thought the elf.) "My apologies to you all for my...misplaced...concern." Oirhandir fervently hoped his companions would be so pleased at knowing they were protected against the snakes that they would overlook his oversight. Oirhandir stared for a moment at the brawny half-orc, seeming somewhat misplaced atop his nervous steed. Were the start of all such adventures so strange? Recovering, the elf blurted out, "Why, yes. Yes, we'll be on our way." With that, Oirhandir gently stroked the muzzle of his own mount while quietly asking Phyrah's blessing on the journey. Seeing the rest of the party mounting up to ride, Oirhandir eased into the saddle and took the reins.
