The python was only size category Medium trying to swallow a Medium lizard.

He should have known not to try powergaming the rules.

He likely thought Improved Natural Attack allowed him to swallow one size category larger than normal.

Same thing that's happened pretty much everywhere. People being stupid. "Gee, I guess owning a python isn't for me after all." Throws in swamp. And that happens apparently quite a lot.

I have friends in Arizona who've mentioned that they've had to put some laws into effect to prevent too much grassifying as it's making the place have more humidity, but I don't know if he was pulling my leg.

It's true. People constantly watering their grass increases the local humidity, which in turn mucks up the ecosystem.

That's why I paved my yard and painted it green. No maintenance required after that. Great for the ecosystem... :p
