wow, what is this, like my 3rd original creature? ;) UDNOT Small Humanoid (Gnome) Hit Dice: 1d8+1 (5 hp) Initiative: -1 (Dex) Speed: 20 ft AC: 14 (+1 size, -1 Dex, +3 studded leather, +1 small shield) Attacks: Warhammer +2 melee; or javelin +0 melee Damage: Warhammer 1d8; or javelin 1d6 Face/Reach: 5 ft by 5 ft/5 ft Special Attacks: Gnome traits, spell-like abilities Special Qualities: Gnome traits, fire resistance 10 Saves: Fort +3, Ref -1, Will +1 Abilities: Str 11, Dex 9, Con 12, Int 9, Wis 12, Cha 10 Skills: Listen +5, Spot +4 Feats: Weapon Focus (Warhammer) Climate/Terrain: Warm mountains and underground Organization: Company (2-4), squad (11-20 plus 1 leader of 3rd-6th level and 2 4th-level lieutenants) or clan (30-100 plus 25% noncombatants plus 1 3rd-level sergeant per 10 adults, 3-7 4th-level lieutenants, 2-5 5th-level captains, and 1-3 fire lizards) Challenge Rating: 1 Treasure: Standard Alignment: Usually neutral good Advancement: By character class Udnots are a race of mountain-dwelling humanoids closely related to gnomes, and also cousins to the dwarves. They are more physically powerful than gnomes, and are even more serious-minded than dwarves. These people are nearly 4 feet in height on the average, and weigh 65-90 pounds. Their skin color is usually a dark tan, though those who spend their time in very hot climates usually have a reddish tinge. The tops of their heads are bald, though males usually have a prodigious beard of gray or white. Udnots speak Gnome, and intelligent udnots learn Dwarven, Ignan, and Undercommon. COMBAT Udnots are naturally proficient as warriors, but prefer to avoid combat except in the defense of their homes and families. They make use of their spell-like abilities to scare off weaker foes, and kill those they cannot chase away. Spell-Like Abilities: 1/day - burning hands, heat metal, and produce flame. These abilities are as the spells cast by a wizard of the udnot’s character level (save DC 9 + spell level). Gnome Traits (Ex): Udnots benefit from a number of racial traits common to gnomes. Small: Udnots gain a +1 size bonus to AC and attack rolls and a +4 bonus to Hide checks, but they must use smaller weapons that humans use, and their lifting and carrying limits are three-quarters of those of Medium-size creatures. Low-Light Vision. Udnots can see twice as far as a human in starlight, moonlight, torchlight, and similar conditions of poor illumination. +2 racial bonus to saving throws against illusions. +1 racial bonus to attack rolls against kobolds and goblinoids. +4 dodge bonus against giants. Skills: Udnots receive a +2 racial bonus to Listen checks, for their keen hearing, and a +2 racial bonus to Appraise checks and Craft or Profession checks that are related to stone or metal. UDNOT SOCIETY Udnots are a solitary people, keeping to themselves when possible. They cooperate with other good races when needed, but only when approached for help. They like dwarves and can tolerate gnomes, but prefer to avoid halflings, elves, humans, and the half-breeds. Their chief enemies are orcs and firenewts. Udnots prefer to make their homes in or around active volcanoes. They build large cities in the sides of the mountains, but make them hard to find. Their cities are only accessible through the honeycomb of tiny crisscrossing passages, which are necessary for the city’s survival should the volcano erupt. The whole of udnot society is dedicated to mining, particularly gems and rare metal and volcanic ores. They engage in high trade with other sentient races, particularly dwarves and aarakocra. UDNOT CHARACTERS An udnot’s favored class is druid. Most udnot leaders are druids or druid/barbarians.
