The city of Coldbridge straddles a remote valley high in the Greywatch Mountains, far from civilization and as far north as most maps bother to show. Normally such an isolated settlement would be quickly overrun by monsters or raiders, but Coldbridge has enjoyed the protection of a mighty dragon for several decades, allowing the city to survive and prosper as its mines haul precious metals and gems from the mountains.
Now word spreads that the dragon has disappeared and the region grows dangerous: Monsters return to the mountains in greater numbers than ever and undead creatures menace the passes and forests of the northern lands. The call has gone out -- adventurers are needed to defend the city and push back against the encroaching dangers, but can any group of adventurers be prepared to face The Vampire Lord of Deathblack Peak?
