Hallelujah."[/hq]Now, it might just be a sick fantasy on my part, but I would love it if the last episode that Martin Sheen is in as president on The West Wing ended with him destroying the world in nuclear war. In the latest episode, rumors were that China and Russia were moving toward a conflict, which could draw the US into World War 3. I think that it's certainly possible that, with the right combination of tragedy, stress, and medication to ward off his MS, the president might just go loopy enough to blow up the world.His daughter's going to get married some time this season. There's a presidential election whose result is in doubt. There's a war coming, and there's been assassinations in the middle east and a failed peace deal. First, the Republican candidate wins the election, which angers much of Bartlet's party. They accuse him of abandoning them. Then China and Russia start fighting, Pakistan invades India, and the stress is just mounting like crazy. Bartlet tries taking some medication to keep things under control. He's tempted to send the US into the conflict to defend the peace he brokered in the middle east, but he doesn't want to ruin his daughter's wedding with warfare.Then a terrorist attack strikes the wedding, and while Bartlet is gotten to safety, his entire family is killed. In a rage, Bartlet insists on immediate reaction, and he sends the army after the terrorists. Russia and China see this mobilization as a threat and move into position to strike the US, and then the president, with nothing really left to live for, says, "Well **** it," and decides to blow up the world.But then, to preserve the series so they don't have to cancel the show, Christopher Walken shows up and assassinates the president.I think this could really liven up the series.</blockquote>
