There area also broad descriptions of specific regions or geographic features which are spread over multiple hexes. The flavor is very rich, and very evocative. The "world" as it where is a hodge-podge of cultures and civilizations from high tech "tinkering" gnomes to savage cavemen. It also runs the range of ELs from wild boars rutting for truffles to encounters of "dragon swarms". I saw at least one EL 20 area, but it wouldn't surprise me if there are area of 20+.
