Is it possible for the worst & best player be the same guy? Out of all the people I've played with, he was the funnest to DM when it came to actually playing the game. He roleplayed, he was creative, he was great at moving the adventure along, & he was a fun guy to play with when it came to character interaction. It was so nice to DM him because I barely had to nudge the group forward...he just always had good ideas to get the group moving forward in the adventure. But he was a pain in the butt also. When he joined the group, he said he wasn't a rules lawyer, but yet he argued every little thing. Not just rules (he would argue rules), but weird stuff. We spent 40 minutes once arguing about whether or not the NPC woman he was trying to flirt with was "good looking enough". It didn't matter to him that I eventually said she was the best looking woman in the bar just to move on with the game. It didn't matter that I said she was a bombshell. He wanted me to tell him her Charisma score without telling him her Charisma score. When I would tell him, "If you're trying to find out her Charisma score, I can't tell you that. But she's really attractive". His response would be, "You don't have to tell me her Charisma score, but I want to make sure she's over an 18 score rather than a 16-17 score". Mainly, he over alalyzed everything and nitpicked the small stuff. That was one example out of many weird/lame things he argued about. He also kept making interesting characters that were completely useless...then get frustrated when he's not being affective in every single encounter. Other players asked him to create a new PC because he was such a crutch. It's hard for a group to survive when all their resources & actions go towards making sure he doesn't die. His new PC was as interesting, and as useless as the old one. He also complained when he didn't get his way. He joined my campaign knowing I only DM a certain setting that was an ongoing campaign of 2 years. He really wanted to play a totally different setting using D20 rules I wasn't familiar with. Since he couldn't convince me to DM that for him, he kept finding reasons why he wasn't enjoying my original campaign & setting. He eventually left the group after a year.
