Last month I bought Ptolus: City by the Spire, a most awesome dungeons and dragons supplement. This is the PS3 of DnD books. As I read through it I thought about how cool it would be to write a novel set in Ptolus. This is NOT a game log, this is going to be a full blown novel. Dramatis Personae Tallistra Mona: Female Human Druid- Tallistra was orphaned at age 12 when a tribe of marauding Orcs tore apart her village. All that she owns is held in a purse that belonged to her grandmother (A bag of holding that still holds most of her druid grandmother's possessions). Dane: Male Dire Wolf- Dane was the animal companion of another druid. When she died he found Tallistra and became her animal companion and foster father. He is incredibly intelligent (for a Dire Wolf) and raised her as his own in the Moonsilver Forest. Bradagor Facebreaker: Male Stonelost Dwarf Artificer- Bradagor is a descendant of the Boar Clan. He and his older brother were raised by their uncle. Uncle Thorm was the Black sheep of the family and put crazed ideas in the two dwarves' heads about returning to Dwarvenhearth. Bradagor is incredibly skilled with pistols. Iddagor Facebreaker: Male Stonelost Dwarf Fighter- He fights beside his brother Bradagor and hopes to someday make the trip to Dwarvenhearth that his uncle never got to take. He loves his brother dearly but argues with him frequently. Kaira Sundance: Female Cherubim Elf Cleric of Mirresh- This winged elf was once the betrothed of a powerful wizard. When she learned how dark and petty he truly was she called off the relationship. In a fit of anger he put a hit out on her and she escaped Ptolus with her life. Now, twenty years later she has returned to the city she loved. Falcron Strongblade: Male Human Paladin of Lothian- He is a "live by the paladin's code" type of person. Incredibly devout, he serves his faith without failure. Growing up as a street rat he enjoyed watching the gladiators fight. Since then he wished he could lift up the sword in combat. He was found by a Paladin named Daeroc Strongblade who took him in and taught him about Lothian and shared stories of his exploits against Undead and the Fallen. After Daeroc died and Falcron inherited the Paladin's blade, armor, and a vial of Liquid Light; he learned that his Foster Father tales of heroism were not his own. Daeroc had never fought undead. Falcron took it upon himself to lead the life his father never got to. Boet: Male Gnome Wizard- Boet was a City Watchman who enjoyed a bit of prestige at being a Wizard. He has recently retired however, feeling that the work will not get him where he wants to be in life (Especially because he is a gnome) He plans on joining the Delver's Guild, but he needs some money to pay the dues first. That's how the group is shaping up. I will post what I've written once it's written. "Nuff Said! The Gnomemaster
