Theme songs for PCs and NPCs

Shemeska

Who else out there besides me writes down songs that match NPCs or PCs in either their lyrics or their music?

I've found it amusing to find songs that fit characters in my campaign, matching up in terms of title or lyrics with that NPCs personality or things that they've done. I find it helps to make you think about them and aids in further defining their personality and can give you insight for future plots involving them.

For example, NPCs in my own game (mostly the collection of BBEGuys and BBEGirls, though for at least one of them that's a questionable designator and he'd be all flustered):

Vorkannis the Ebon (Oinoloth in my game): 'Prayer' - Disturbed

Shylara Akt'Atarm the Manged (Lady of the Tower of Incarnate Pain): 'Help Me Stay Alive' - Korn

Shemeska the Marauder: 'Pretty When You Cry' - VAST

A'kin the Friendly Fiend: 'Got Me Wrong' - Alice in Chains

Lazarius Ibn Shartalan 'The Architect': 'Laura's Theme' - Godhead

Alisohn Nilesia, exFactol (Mercykillers): 'White Noise' - God Lives Underwater

I actually gave my players a bit of homework one week to come up with something for their own characters and it was amusing to say the least. Anyone else ever done anything like that?

The character was the one in my qoute....I don't know if you know much about RQ-Glorantha, but here is a short synopsis....you basically have the Lunar Empire, akin to Romans, who invaded Sartar...a country...and outlawed the worship of the Gods of Sartar....So my character, Blaine StormBlade, was a powerful worshipper of Orlanth...the Storm God....and his worship was outlawed...So I took up the worship of Issaries, who is kinda a Neutral God of Traders and Merchants, while keeping that I was a Lord/Priest of Orlanth hidden, our group traveled under the guises of a group of Issaries and Yelmalio ( the son of the SunGod ) worshippers fighting the Lunars wherever we could..After years ( real time ) I became a High Priest of Issaries also. To cut it short...the song that I always thought fit my character, happened to be one of my favorite ones anyway....Wherever I may Roam...by Metallica

Well, I have two characters in my mind that apply.
One, Zen Falconnan, is a bit of a firebug (an interesting trait in a mildly deranged evoker that specializes in fire). Clever, angry at the universe, but chaotic good (with chaotic neutral tendencies). Loves a fight, and has jumped into melee in about half of all climactic battles. Yes, a single class wizard. "Down with the Sickness" by Disturbed.

My other character is the Illusionist Kessock. Kessock happens to be a half-fiendish human, with a buffed Intelligence of about 33. Like Zen, jumps into combat (but with a very good Con score, with buffs). Kessock's father is none other than the former Oinoloth, who only sired Kessock to be an assassin against his rivals. Kessock took a dim view of this, and rebelled. Now, he fights evil, through both trickery and direct action. For him, I pick "Forsaken" from "Queen of the Damned". Note that I choose the version by David Draiman from Disturbed (plays at end of movie, and is also on the movie soundtrack), not the version at the beginning of the film.
