[QUOTE="Ghostwind, post: 1230282, member: 3060"] The original Highlander movie will always be a classic. I think the whole problem occurred when they tried to tie the other movies into it. The second movie is just plain bad all the way around (including the Renegade edition with its bad sound editing). The best thing the third movie had going for it was the female co-star who was definitely easy on the eyes. The television series was far more entertaining in my opinion than most people give it credit for. I think they could have better explained/tied it into the original movie to explain why Connor really wasn't the last one if they had tried. Instead, it was explained in about two sentences by Joe Dawson and then ignored. The fourth film would have been much better had they not insisted on bringing Lambert into it. As I understand it, one of the contract clauses he insisted to was that Connor had to die in this one. I've been aware of the proposed 5th movie for over a year. The holy grail that they speak of is the "whatever" that makes them immortal and others not. In that respect, the reference to "their world" means immortals and not another planet. Essentially Panzer and Davis are looking to re-energize the shrinking franchise by bringing a new tale to the market. If they completely avoid any references to existing Highlander characters and not include them in the movie (except for maybe Methos, who is enough of an enigma to pull it off) they have a respectable chance at restarting the franchise. Otherwise, it will likely be the nail in the coffin and doom the sinking ship to its death. As it stands now, the marketing firm that pedals the Highlander merchandise has had to combine it with Hercules, Xena, and Conan to cross market better and keep all of them afloat for awhile longer...
