That was a useful link, thanks so much! - Over Tier 6? heck we took a year of playing every night for 4 hours, every week for 12 months to reach tier 6... barely.... are people really ripping through tiers that fast? after a year, i am ready for a new game or new character :P But... what you said is dead wrong. Monty says "if it's its own game, the game won't change (because the rules are self-contained.) - We will not retrofit these games to these rules " The new rules are absolutely NOT fully compatible with or few sentence changes to Cypher 1.0 Compatible to "Some degree".... mostly not. Again, he is leaving old stuff alone. Which means i would expect a full new Numenera a few years well after this new edition of Cypher has grown teeth. And i expect that he is ok with how Cypher games differ, as he in the video gave examples of such. Which is great. The damage stat for creatures is not really a thing I would consider meaningful, but ok... How do the new wounds work with old Cypher? Not at all? Some? mods? Dunno.. I personally don't mind much, I have plenty of mods in my FF8 Cypher game (go play it! lol ) So this new edition is Very welcome to me and my table. I am just curious as to why there was not at least a little consideration for timing of games released under old Cypher within 1 or two years of new edition, that's all.
