I'd like to speed this up and say that his death is imminent, and there are factions of Hamemrs jockeying for position.  The new leader must appoint a successor, but he can't do that if he's killed, now can he? Could be one of the Hammerite Hopefuls, or it could be an outside job, aimed at taking the Hammers down by severing the head of the organization and hoping for infighting. Could be a frame, here, too.  Lots of potential ideas.I want to set this before The Dark Project ever happened, so the Trickster hasn't been released from the Maw of Chaos yet.  Victoria and a group of Pagans is trying to accomplish this, but to do so will need to collect some magical (and very valuable) components for the ritual.. the PC's could come in here, as I'd love to send them grave robbing in the Bonehoard (have it mapped out and everything!)One of the PC's (the only one for now, as it'll probably a one-on-one game until I get a good feel for the setting and characters) is an old thief that was just released from Pavelock Prison (it's fun to use in-game locations). He has some skills, but they've deteriorated in his 20 years behind bars. He's first level, but remembers being so much better than that.  I need a way to get him embroiled in plotlines.. Perhapse his partner who betrayed him those years ago (the only woman he ever loved) could be the key...- Kemrain the Plotter and the Scheemer.</blockquote>
