Maybe even vice versa, using Harper secrets and connections to acquire status in the guild.  You could also take some levels of Divine Agent to represent some additional affiliation with one of the churches, like the church of Tymora, or the church of Mask, or whoever. The Royal Herald, a spy PrC from Dragon Magazine, might also be worth considering, if you want to have contacts in the nobility.If you take the Harper Scout (or Royal Herald) class, consider a level or two of Mindbender.  The Harper levels will help you meet the requirements of the class, and at 1st level of Mindbender you get unlimited telepathic communication.
