I just put my book away and stood bracing myself on my chair.”</span></p><p></p><p><span style="color: SandyBrown">“It was a heavily cloaked individual slightly above average in height. He appeared to be careful that his hood covered him even while he was struggling with the merchant as his face remained fully concealed.”</span></p><p></p><p><span style="color: SandyBrown">“There was a youngish man up on the balcony before the blackout who was not rounded up by the Captain or his men.”</span></p><p></p><p><span style="color: SandyBrown">“The merchant was sitting quietly. I assumed he was waiting for someone so I didn’t disturb him.”</span></p><p></p><p><span style="color: SandyBrown">“When the blackout occurred, someone sent a smoker into the Unicorn to further confound vision. The merchant got up in the confusion as a heavily cloaked individual approached him. They started struggling. I was going to see if I could help the merchant, but before I could, the cloaked one prevailed in the struggle. He dropped the body of the merchant and tossed the knife in my direction then turned and left out the front door.</span></p><p><span style="color: SandyBrown">“Based on the timing, I don’t see how he got away without the guard seeing him without the use of magic.</span></p><p><span style="color: SandyBrown">“May I ask why the Guard was called to the Unicorn? Considering when they arrived, it couldn’t have been in response to the disturbance. It would have taken a summons longer than that to even reach the Guard, let alone get an organized response team together to reply.”</span></p></blockquote><p></p>
