:(
At least the summre numbers are up.

As I went down the list my first thought was that Fahrenheit 9/11 had more staying power than I thought it would have...

until I saw that Shrek 2 is still in the top 10 two months after it came out. Go Big Green!

Apples and Oranges. Fahrenheit is shattering recent yearly totals for all documentaries combined, much less for any single documentary. And the return on the investment (production cost) is, I'd bet, pretty monumental, up in Clerks territory.

King Arthur cost something like $170 million to make and advertise, according to Box Office Mojo.

My guess is that it will be lucky to make $50 million in the US, so it will probably end up a money loser, if not a flop, (since you figure international will be about 150% of that or so)

Yeah, King Arthur looks pretty bleak. It's hard to know what any of those budget numbers actually mean, and studios are masters nowadays of massaging their accounts, but there's no denying that King Arthur is getting killed. And they can't really blame it on Spiderman -- not when Anchorman is doing so well on the same frame.

Frankly, I was kind of pulling for this outcome. I'm a bit of an Arthur snob and Jerry Bruckheimer gets up my nose. I still haven't really forgiven him for Gone In 60 Seconds. So this makes me a teensy bit smug.

As smug as a software management dude in Vancouver can be in the face of one of the most powerful, successful and wealthy men in Hollywood.

My victories are small, but I savour them... :D

May I just say: Ron Burgundy is GOD. Will Ferrall got six of my bucks on Sunday.

Will Ferrell is one of the best comedic performers from SNL in recent years. That guy cracks me up. His delivery is perfect and he can keep a straight face through anything. He kind of reminds me of Chris Farley.
