Message: <blockquote data-quote="Mark" data-source="post: 5142254" data-attributes="member: 5"><p>I think the real test for Clash will be whether it survives the word of mouth it is getting to garner a strong second weekend.  It's not going to take too many bad 3D movies to screw up this new cash cow method of revitalizing the film box office take.  If we get two, three, four or so bad 3D movies that aren't really worth the extra bucks, we will probably see a sharp decline in opening weekend box office as people wait for the word of mouth to ensure that these new movies are worth the added expense.  I, for instance, heard bad things about Clash and that the 3D of it wasn't worth the added expense (and that the overall film lacked in any number of areas, not unlike the first in that regard), so I will hold off and see it at my leisure at an early weekend show for $5, rather than shell out for the 3D or even IMAX versions (I still want to see it in the theatre, otherwise it would simply wind up in the Netflix queue).  I might be an early adopter of such a policy but I doubt I would be alone or the last.</p></blockquote><p></p>
