I posted this on a different thread but this one seems more focused on finding a reasonable &/ simple way of implementing Stunning Assault (SA). I thought a reasonable fix would be for the wording to read: "When you activate this maneuver, you take the Attack action and make a weapon attack, as well as any additional attacks granted by Extra Attack. Until the start of your next turn, when you hit a creature with a melee weapon attack it makes a Constitution saving throw or is stunned until the end of their next turn." This reduces the window of opportunity to take advantage of the stunned condition and is a simple fix. While I do think SA is powerful, I think comparing it to another ability attained at a similar level would be beneficial. Consider Hypnotic Pattern (HP): 1. HP has Wisdom saving throw: better than Con (in general). 2. HP AOE: 20 ft cube 3. Caster using HP does not need to jump into the fray to deliver the condition 4. HP requires no attacks - therefore increasing chances of success. 5. Both attained at level 5 - comparable to SA. 6. Both apply the incapacitated condition. 7. SA can damage and can crit. 8. HP has no additional saves but benefits from easier ways to remove the effect. Is this a reasonable comparison? On the face of it does to me. I have only seen HP in play and it's impact was meaningful and in some play it was encounter ending. New to LU so haven't seen SA in action so forgive my ignorance.
