Do you just go to the store buy the system and go home and set it up or is there more to it, e.g. a subscription of some sort?

This type of thing definitely requires more than the system itself does it not?
Correct. You either pay a 'lifetime' subscription fee for that unit to the Tivo guide service, or you pay a $13/month fee for it. The Tivo either hooks up to a phone line or, IIRC, the series 2 units can connect over broadband network connections. Without service, I believe you can only get two or three days in advance, instead of two weeks, and I'm unsure how the logic works.

But it's worth it, to me at least.

I love JL (Hawkgirl rules!) and Cowboy Bebop to the point that I would actually watch reruns of those shows even if they were late at night. I've watched CB 5 times over and I still love it! The ending and soundtrack just rock.

Batman and Superman are kewl shows, too. Inuyasha used to be on my love list but recent episodes have dulled my liking for it. Other stuff I watch when I catch new eps are He-man, Samurai Jack and Yugi-Oh (a guilty pleasure :( ).

Rurouni Kenshin is a show with which I have a love-hate relationship. I love the Shishio saga but hate most everything else. I like Saito Hajime, Aoshi Shinamori and some of the Juppon Gatana, but I hate most of the other characters. I like Kenshin in the first OVA more than in the series. I like the 1st OVA but I hate the 2nd.

I actually love most of the comedy cartoons they show in Adult swim (with the exception of Space Ghost Coast to Coast) but for some strange reason, I don't feel like watching them as of late.
