Greetings, It has been a while since I posted, but I have been enjoying many of the rules discussions here. I haven’t wandered into house rules often, but thought it might be fun/useful. ‘Echelon Break’ is a feat I created for a player who wants his now Epic level character to have the ability to break through enemy lines. That is the basic description; his was much more involved, but unnecessary for the moment. The character is Strength based, has ‘Powerful Build’ (treated as ‘large’ when beneficial) and uses a greatsword. Needless to say, the character is very offensively focused, many times relying on defensive (and healing) abilities of the party. I would appreciate any feedback you might have on this feat below before I implement it into the game I’m running. Is this too powerful, or not useful enough? Is it confusing, or does it generally need reworked? (Shock Trooper is noted below, for those without Complete Warrior) ECHELON BREAK [epic] Your might and skill allow you to break through enemy ranks. Prerequisites : Str 25, Improved Overrun, Improved Bull Rush, Power Attack, Shock Trooper, base attack +20. Benefit : You may move through any square occupied by an opponent during a charge. Any creature who’s square you enter is subject to an Overrun, and the number of Overruns you may attempt during a charge is not limited. Alternatively, you may choose to make a Bull Rush to knock the opponent out of the way (diagonally back using ‘directed bull rush’) and keep moving. Provided you beat the opponent’s check, you continue your movement normally. If you fail to beat the defender’s check, you movement is ended and you move 5 feet straight back to where you where before you moved into his space. Special : You may continue movement normally after pushing a creature diagonally into another creature, using the ‘domino rush’ ability to make a trip attempt against them. (Please let me know if posting a feat description here is any sort of violation; I am not familiar with such things.) Shock Trooper Prerequisites : Improved Bull Rush, Power Attack, base attack bonus +6 Benefit : The Shock Trooper feat enables the use of three tactical maneuvers. Directed Bull Rush: To use this maneuver, you must make a successful bull rush attempt as part of a charge. For every square you push your foe back, you may also push that foe one square to the left of right. Domino Rush : To use this maneuver, you must make a successful bull rush attempt that forces a foe into the same square as another foe. You make a free trip attempt against both foes at the same time, and neither foe gets a chance to trip you if your attempt fails. (The ‘Heedless Charge’ maneuver is irrelevant) Thank you for your help.
