Thread movement

This thread was moved today without any explaination from a moderator.

Could a policy be enacted whereby when a moderator moves a thread that they (the moderator who moved the thread) identify themselves? That way if the original poster has a concern over why a thread was moved they would know who to address.

Dave, the only reason threads get moved is because a moderator thinks they're in the wrong forum. If something seems unusual to you, you can either report a post in the thread or post here in Meta.

It looks to me like a moderator was thinking of Midnight as a d20 game and not a campaign setting, which I believe it is. I'll slide it back and doublecheck.

Plus moderators normally put a message to say they are moving a thread, but sometimes are pushed for time for one reason or another and so are not able to, as seems to have been the case in this instance.

I was just thinking that if one of my threads was moved and I didn't agree with the decision, I'd like to e-mail the appropriate mod to discuss it rather than bring it up in meta.

That way it wouldn't look like I'm calling out anyone (or, more likely, embarassing myself ).
