Thunderball Rally vs. SWRev Vehicle Rules

How do the vehicle rules in these two games compare? Are they pretty much identical, except for the fact that SWRev has to scale up to include starships and things?

I haven't read either set of rules in any real detail, but they look pretty similar to me.
