Thylacine gripe

I hate the stats for the thylacine! Why was it made like that, it isn't a magical beast, its a real animal? It is known alsoas the tasmanian tiger, and is nothing like the one posted here. Why?

Noone is forcing you to use that version. If you don't like it, make your own.

you'll find that quite a number of D&D creatures were created as magical/fantastic monsters, having the same name as real world animals. the thylacine, by ed greenwood, is one of these. why he chose to do it the way he did, i don't know, but i've always liked it.

now if you just want another type of feline animal, it's easy enough to modify a tiger or lion's stats slightly.

The real animal was a marsupial, and would probably be a match for the wolf in size, stats and skills, though not entirely in habits.

I'd probably start with the wolf and give it the leopard's +4 hide and +8 move silently racial bonuses.
