After 10 hours of working on it, I had almost nothing (FYI, Robert had just fled Gerodyne). The lure to scrap it and give up was there, believe me, it was constantly nagging at me. But as you said, I'd rather enter a bad story than none at all. If there's one thing even a professional writer cannot have enough of, it's experience, and the chance to break old routines.
