tiny wizard

Mad Scientist
Looking at the shadowig in dragon magazine I suddenly had several interesting ideas for character, among which is a shadowig wizard.
But a few point needs clarification:
1) the minimum value of a stat is 1 right? Now how does it exactly work with extreme racial modifier (-8 for shadowig's strength): assuming I put a 8 or lower in strength, this would mean I still get a strength of 1? Or do I HAVE to put a 9 or better in Strength to have a minimum of 1. Seems kind of a rule exploitation otherwise.
2)The cost of armor for tiny creature is only half, but the weight is only a tenth. So am I safe in assuming that the cost of material is a tenth and that the work necessary is increased to compensate?
After all you don't need much mithril to make an armor for a 9" tall humanoid.

Impatient to play a 9" wizard. ;)

If a racial modifer makesa stat lower then one, the stat is a one. I have no idea on the other issue. However, as a Wizard you don't need armor.

but you'd need one hell of an armorer!

but if you had a bard with perform: piano.....:p
Remind me of an old Tom and Jerry cartoon.
Would be the only bard able to dance AND play piano at the same time ;)
