Message: <blockquote data-quote="Gothmog" data-source="post: 2246914" data-attributes="member: 317">Oh lord yes I'm sick of D&D.  The kick-in-the-door, kill, loot mindset kills the fun of the game for me, and I'm tired of upteen zillion sentient races in a world, as well as twenty subspecies of elves, and the D&D stereotypes in general (demihumans, rigid class distinctions, assumed magic levels and system, etc).D20 is still ok, but I am getting a little tired of it.  I have been running what I would call a D20 dark fantasy/horror game for four years now (carried over from 2E) with quite a few house rules, and while I still enjoy running the game for the plots, ideas, and characters, I am tired of many of the assumptions and core requisites of D20 (feats, linear increase of skills, BAB vs AC/defense problems, hit points, etc).  Its also a LOT of work to properly prep a suitable challenge in D20 without winging or half-assing it, especially with the characters approaching 13th level.I've found that my group has been going more towards other games and systems of late.  In particular, they have developed a strong love of classic Deadlands, which has a great world as well as incredibly cool mechanics.  The new edition of WFRP has also blown my socks off, and I'm really excited about running or playing it sometime soon- moreso than I have about any RPG in the past- its that good.  We still play CoC BRP and Kult every once in a while, and one guy runs D6 Star Wars occasionally (which I suffer through- never liked the D6 system and he follows the Star Wars canon VERY closely).  I'd like to try the new WOD at some point, but oddly enough I'm having a hard time finding anyone who is really wanting to play/run that right now.</blockquote>
