It has been rumored that FFG will not be presenting any new material for Dragonstar anytime time soon. Unfortunately, there is a loyal following who is disappointed at this prospect. It has been suggested within our group that we could develope our own source books, for personal use.

WE DO NOT WISH TO PROFIT FROM THIS. THIS IS STRICTLY A PERSONAL VENTURE!

We would like your blessing on this. We would also some feed back, if possible. Please contact us at jgiesea81@yahoo.com, at your convenience. We hope to hear from you soon.

Does anyone have a link to this announcement? It is a sad piece of news, but not shocking. They really beat WotC to the sci-fi d20 market with a great new product, but it had no in-house adventure support (although the free adventures on the web site are great). Then, no 3.5 update (not necessarily bad--just shows a lack of suport). Then, a discount bundle sale. Now, it's over.

If you ask me, while it is convenient to use email, I'd rather you compose a printed letter, stating as politely as you can that you wish to open up a fansite to continue supporting Dragonstar, and send that letter to Fantasy Flight Games.

HOWEVER, you must fully understand that this is their IP (intellectual property) and they reserve the right to say "NO." They also reserve the right to offer strict conditions that if you wish, you may comply to those conditions, or drop this entire fansite venture.

The bottom line is the bottom line..if no ones buying the books they can't afford to continue making them. While it is sad to see good and well done ideas like this have to go the way of the dodo, it will hopefully lead them to produce better and more popular ideas.

If you check out www.againsttheshadow.org you will find that FFG is rather generous when it comes to fans using their IP (in the case of AtS, Midnight).

May I suggest two things:

- ensure that you have an active community that is producing content; and
- then contact FFG with a properly worded email.
