So, I wanted to share the conclusion of the encounter. First off, some additional info. The guy who plays our full Orc Barbarian had missed the session where we drew cards, so he ended up drawing 14 of them. Got a cool weapon, soul trapped (which he un-Wished), had alignment turned to Lawful (Which he un-Wished), got a castle, had his INT dropped to 4, and a few other things, but he never drew the card that resulted in anyone wanting to kill him. I joined the campaign while the players were 3500 years in their past, and I was brought to their present, my far, far future. the DM plays his own sandbox world that he's been working on for over a decade, quite a few of the existing deities former characters from older games mixed with the greyhawk deities. My target, the inquisitor, worships Gerret, the god of time who was mostly responsible for the current adventure arc and my character's involuntary displacement thru time. Our Inquisitor is decked out with hourglass symbols. My character justified his murderous urge by processing the fact that he was taken away from everything and everyone he knew, all he loved, all he had to do, was long gone. And so, this party member embodied that loss. And so, onto the assassination. I pulled the DM aside and explained that I spent 2 days preparing. First, Knowledge Nature check to reveal what sort of animals were likely in the area. I then used Call Animal four times to bring Brown Bears to me. While the Inquisitor slept, I placed the 4 statues around him. I positioned my Tiger animal companion between the bears and where I would stand, touched & triggered the statues, and got a surprise round as he woke to 4 Grizzlies attempting to maul him. The next few rounds involved him running, provoking A.o.O.'s while I summoned Sturges in waves and he was pursued by 4 bears and a tiger. he died a desiccated husk having taken damage and a total of 16 points of CON drain. In the chaos, the Gnome Illusionist used this opportunity to kill the Rogue. This occurred in a single round with the use of Phantasmal Killer, and so their battle finished before mine.
