By Glenn Dean, Staff Reviewer d20 Magazine Rack Sizing up the Target With Lexus: Toeffrun Creation Myth, Creative Mountain Games continues their development of the World of Revloc by developing the mythology of the Kingdom of Toeffrus. Lexus: Toeffrun Creation Myth is a $1, 8-page PDF by Mark Clover that provides the creation myth and basic pantheon information for the Kingdom of Toeffrus. First Blood Lexus: Creation Myth describes the creation of Revloc from the void by the mother deity, Darlak; the elevation of the other deities in the Toeffrun pantheon; the population of the world and relations between the races; the ultimate schism of the gods; and the ongoing struggle with the four elemental Primas. The mythology provides a comprehensive and engaging backstory for the campaign world – well written and original. The Lexus provides a pantheon of seven deities and four elemental forces. The basic values and relationships with other deities are provided for each deity, along with the essential gaming information for PC clerics (alignment, symbol, favored weapons, domains, and periods of celebration). Critical Hits The small selection of deities is quite balanced and much easier to get a firm handle on than the much more complicated pantheons of some campaign worlds. All of the core domains are addressed, and the product is a good fit with the Core d20 system. Critical Misses Be advised, this product does not include deity stat blocks or similar game mechanics. It provides a framework for a campaign pantheon; it does not provide a fully-fleshed church organization. The GM who uses this in a campaign must still develop the rituals, organizations, and temples for each deity. Coup de Grace While this product will primarily appeal to gamers using the World of Revloc setting, it is sufficiently generic that it could be used to provide a basic mythology and pantheon of gods for a homebrew campaign. It provides a useful set of deities, though it lacks in fine detail – but at $1, who’s counting?
