[TOGC] Complete Spell Cards

Flyspeck23

First Post

Maybe you've seen our free (but blank) Spell Cards (if not: check them out ;) ).

On August 22nd the Complete Spell Cards will be released (at RPG Now ): every spell of the System Reference Document put into our (now hopefully) familiar spell cards layout.

Features:
- a collection of 9 PDFs: one for each spellcasting class (bard, cleric, druid, paladin, ranger, sorcerer/wizard, assassin and blackguard), and one introduction.
- each spell includes the complete rules for that spell (for instance: Cure Serious Wounds won't tell you to look at Cure Light Wounds)
- the rules are adjusted for the actual spellcasting class (for instance: a blackguard's Summon Monster spells state that he can only summon evil creatures)
- some of the "larger" spells - for instance: Dispel Magic - will have two versions: one in each classes' list that can cast this spell, and one larger version twice as broad as the standard spell card (so we could use a bigger font) in the introductory document. You can fold these oversized cards, so they'll fit in with the rest of the spell cards.
- the lists for Summon Monster and Summon Nature's Ally will get their own spellcard-size cards, so you can keep them with your spell cards

The Complete Spell Cards are made to be printed, so you should take account of that in your calculation (btw, the Complete Spell Cards will cost $5.95).

Potential updates will be free for everyone who has bought the Complete Spell Cards.

For all of you who like the spell cards but don't want to pay for the Complete Spell Cards, despair not: on the same day the Complete Spell Cards are released, we'll post an updated version of the free (but blank) spell cards on our site . In this "revised" version you'll find the oversized spell cards as well, and you can fill in the spell's rules on screen.

More information on the Complete Spell Cards (demo, cover preview, ...) is available here .

Oh, and that's not me on the banner. That's Sascha ;)

Now all I need to know is how much will they cost (so I can tell one of my friends with a credit card to get them)...

(Or will I recieve a large E-Mail from you? ;) :D )

Well, look above ;)

Granted, the price was well hidden:
(btw, the Complete Spell Cards will cost $5.95)

Edit: You don't need a credit card for a purchase at RPG Now. A paypal account would suffice. All you need to do is open an account at paypal, and transfer the money from your bank account.
On the other hand - if you'd like to keep paypal out of this, well, I can relate to that ;)

The Complete Spell Card are released!

Additional links (all PDFs, so right-click to save, left-click to view):
Demo 1
Demo 2 (if in any doubt, try Demo 2 ;) )
And, finally, the "revised" (V2.0) version of the free but blank Spell Cards

(Edit: corrected the demo-links. Those pointed to JPEGs... they should work now)

These look VERY useful and VERY cool... slightly smaller versions of the spell cards from Paradigm Concepts (of which I am a huge fan), and 3.5e also!

So, I know you have blank ones, but will you make a template version that can be filled in electronically before printing, thus making it so all of the cards I have to add to the set look like the ones already there?

Or do I just have to license you to do spellcards for all our releases?

:)

@HellHound:
Hmmm... the Paradigm cards somehow escaped me...
Anyway, the "revised" version of the free spell cards should do that (you can fill in the information electronically).
Oh, and this "revised" version is already included in the Complete Spell Cards.

@Selganor:
That would be cool, wouldn't it? And I'd gladly be up to the job (and any help would be splendid - we could use some proof-readers...).
That said, I wouldn't want to do a project like that without informing/asking the publisher in question, be it AU spells or others.
See, I'll be on holiday soon, and I wouldn't want to contact anybody only to not be able to reply...
Conclusion: I won't promise anything right now. Be patient ;)

I think my only problem with them is the darkness of the white on black logo on the front of the card and trying to read the text through the large logo on the back. Both those logos look like they consume a lot of ink.

That is an interesting concept....

Gosh, I've really missed that!
HellHound, I'd love to do some Spell Cards for you. ;)

@jmucchiello:
I already did think about making the logo on the back a little lighter. On my laser printer it works quite alright, and the logo is barely there, but it now has come to my attention that this might not be the case with inkjet printers. For the next update I'll make it lighter (it's now at 20%, and I'll drop it to 10 or 15).
The logo on the front isn't black. It's 60% black. Maybe I'll reduce that to 30-40%, so that it's clearly a grey tone, and won't be mistaken as black.
Anyway, you're probably right. Point taken.
