He was totaly focused on trying to get through the Stargate, it's doubtfull he'd take a sure-fire slow way back if he had a Stargate available.</p><p></p><p>Of course this begs the question of why he stayed in orbit for so long instead of just 'flying' down to earth in his energy state. We may never find out unless/until a writer decides it's something he needs to explain to further another plot.
