I've only read a couple reviews for Draconomicon from WOTC that I wonder if people really liked it, or they are just not commenting on it. It has been 6 months since its release and I am still trying to figure out if the $ is worth it.
Does anyone have the book and what do you think?
I don't own the book but I have taken a look at it from a friend.
My first opinion is that the Draconomicon is much more a beautiful book to behold and keep in your collection rather than a really useful gaming tool.
The first part about biology, ecology and everything flavorful seemed to be very nice to read (I didn't read it very carefully, just had time to browse, but I was nicely impressed), but not necessarily usable in the game.
Then there is a long part about characters, new dragons, feats and PrCls and so on, essentially the typical gallery of "crunchy bits"

I cannot say much, but I liked the fact that they were unified by the draconic theme.
There are several useful tables or paragraphs here and there, example dragons by age, example hoards and so on. Useful indeed to save time, but since dragons are supposed to be quite rare, you'll hardly use the majority of the book (this is not necessarily bad, it happens with most of the books

).
It is definitely a book that I will look forward to buy in the future - hoping for a small price decrease overtime - but I expect to keep it more as a great book to read, rather than hoping to use it largely.
