Yes, count me in as a fan of D&D. All versions. I dig OD&D, even using chainmail for combat. I dunno why, it's cool and retro, and it's fun. Basic D&D is my nostalgic fix, man what memories. What friends, some I'll never see again. AD&D is the rock upon which my roleplaying is built. I've invested more time in playing and running that game than any other. At times, if you'd seen me, you'd think I was working hard on some project for school, college or work, but nope, I was doing my part to free damsels, kill evil dragons, and take their stuff or stop PC's from doing the same. I've got so many memories that I fear that I've forgotton way to many good times. AD&D 2nd edition is like a mysterious 'what could have been' for me. I dropped out of the hobby about then. It's really kind of weird, I've considered it the reason I did, but really it was life. I've finally admitted to myself that I even like 2nd ed, I realized it because I can't bring myself to get rid of my original 2nd ed books. I did try. 3.5 is what I taught my kids with, and it's how I came back to the hobby. I put 3.0 in here, and consider it the same game. I really like 3.5, for me the height of that game was mid level rouge/sorcerer or mid level barbarian. Or running my kids monster characters through the tomb of horrors. Or having my boys rogues stealthily slink across the decks of ships in freeport. Or me and my son playing dense orc barbarian brothers competing for attention. 4e is a blast. It's an eye opener for me in many ways and spurned me on to rethink a few things. It's also an accelerating snowball of good times, I've met more gamers and played with more people than almost any other edition of the game. At least it seems that way, it's probably a close call compared to AD&D, but at this rate it'll catch up soon. So the clamoring edition wars and spillt bile breaks my heart. I've not been an aloof angel either, mind, but I regret any part I've taken, intentional or not. I just wish it would stop. I realize that it never will.
