[QUOTE="kirinke, post: 3269465, member: 15409"] Well here's my effort..... HOPE STRANGE CHILD Hope was born during the late 20th century and was found in a cryogenic state on board a very old and very alien ship that has yet to be identified as belonging to any known race or civilization, the ship itself is small enough to fit (rather cramped) in the Wanderer's hanger bay and is in fairly good repair. When not on duty, the starship's chief engineer can often times be found crawling around it, in it and on it, hoping to figure out what makes it tick. Hope herself remembers little of her past and what she does remember is in bits and pieces that usually come through in dreams and nightmares. No one is quite sure why she doesn’t remember, the main theory is that the trauma associated with her abduction made her loose her memory. The strangest thing of all is that she has a full set of skills and knowledge that seems to be at times quite modern and then quite archaic as well. Neither she nor the crew understands this phenomena and can only guess that while she was in hibernation, the ship somehow fed her sleeping brain certain skills and knowledge. In fact, she doesn’t even remember her real name, the crew gave her the name of Hope and the ship’s security officer called her a very strange child, so thus, she was named. Hope Strange Child. While the technology of the 24th century is mostly over her head, Hope has found that people remain largely the same, regardless of species and she has no trouble in dealing with most of those she encounters. Behind the innocent guile, she is quick and calculating and a survivor through and through. In her spare time, she is learning how to pilot a ship, especially hers as well as trying to master the various technologies aboard the ship itself. The Wanderer's chief (and only) doctor had recently took a full phaser blast in the chest from a peeved Klingon, so the captain drafted Hope into the position of chief medical officer as she was the only one handy with the right skills. Her bedside manner is best described as a cross between a Klingon with a hangover and irritated viper. Unlike the previous chief medical doctor, she always packs a couple of weapons and when the situation calls for it, she doesn't hesitate to use them.
