Here's a more recent one I really enjoyed making. I had a new group design their own starting town, and they came up with a frontier town that used to be a dragon hatchery, but has been taken over by a corrupt council that uses the old draconic icons to make money.
Set at the half-point of the Old Dragon Road, Wyvern Hill is a busy town frequented by travelers and merchants.
The town is divided between humans, drow, and dragonborn, both physically and socially. Humans look down from their wealthy neighborhoods surrounding the Sun Dragon Temple. Dragonborn reside near the Sunrise Gate, greeting the day with their spiced cooking fires, and drow gather in the shadows of the Sunset Gate.
Merchants traveling from the west stop in Wyvern Hill to trade in Aya’s Square. Scholars traveling from Vaultari in the east visit the library in the Sun Dragon Temple and the Arcanist’s Bazaar.
