Yeah, just adding my voice to that of the other posters - if you've detailed this town so well, why not add an adventure before they leave? Make Sayner the eventual path for the PC's heading out into Faerun, but give them a few adventures in the town. I think you said you wanted to run Sunless Citadel, and if you are stuck on using that, then maybe even a short, one session adventure in town (leaving them half-way to level two) could be the initial kick-off for the campaign. This gives them a chance to see the town, and gives them a little nudge in experience – that never hurts, especially when they get into the first level of the Forge of Fury dungeon. Sunless Citadel (I'm not familiar with the adventure) could be near the Hargrove Hovel. Why not have them leave? I just think if you've put so much work into this town, so it’s unnecessary to develop each town they stop in to have the next adventure. I’d suggest that the Sunless Citadel takes place after the introductory adventure, the Forge of Fury involves heading out to “the Troll Claws” for a week or so, as a slight wilderness adventure to get to the dungeon, the PC’s arrive back in town, meet Sayner (who also could buy their loot from the forge – since no one in town is going to need Durgeddin the Black’s handiwork), and take off with him. This gives several sessions in the local area, tying them to Taelor in a more tangible way. It also makes the village less background information, and more a place the party has come from. Anyway, you are welcome. (In advance ) ;)
