Sorry, I was merely responding to hongs trolling and a few other posts such as that. I'll try not to let trolls get the better of me in the future ;) Tracking is made purposefully to easy, that seems clear. Then there is the spell which makes tracking impossible. I would have to say that both of those two extremes are Very Bad Things (TM), especially for such a low level spell, but at that point we are getting more into houserules. Crafted rock dc 25? Sure, it is of course possible, but the description from the srd states: Hard Ground: Any surface that doesn’t hold footprints at all, such as bare rock or an indoor floor. Most streambeds fall into this category, since any footprints left behind are obscured or washed away. The creature leaves only traces (scuff marks or displaced pebbles). Any surface that doesn'd hold footprints at all. How are you going to trump this with the craft? Either the surface does hold footprints and falls into one other categories or doesnt and falls into this one. I guess it could be made into something like a teflon like surface that will hold no tracks, scuff marks, shuns pebbles and never gets a coating of dust... but then we are getting more into magic than alchemy ;) The biggest issues brought up in the thread, at least in my point of view, were just how big of a circumstance penalty to give, for what, and why it even applies in the first place. These are issues that cannot be resolved at all because of a lack of rules, very unfortunate. In any event, I think most everyone here has decided what they are going to do. Whether it is good or bad, realistic or not, or even in the rules ::shrugs:: Hopefully it will turn out well without too many people getting upset.
