So what you've got here is my own homebrewed system for a Transformers-based TTRPG. The primary canon I worked from was the Prime series, but I tried to leave it non-specific enough as to be able to be fit to any generation. My wife hasn't had a chance to finish up the stat sheet, but with the primary design emphasis being simplicity, I should hope one isn't truly necessary aside from "cool" factor.
I was unimpressed with the other Transformers RPGs that had been made, which I felt simply had far too many stats. (some were upwards of 15 base stats!) After reading over Mechamorphosis, which is Transformers in all but name put to D&D 3rd edition, I concluded that I really wanted as little crunch as possible. The goal is to be able to represent the incredibly diverse world of Transformers, and not just within a given canon, but from things as wide and varied as Beast Wars and Generation 1 to Animated and the Cybertron trilogy. To that end I attempted to go with as little of everything as I reasonably could, and when something was necessary, make it as generalized as possible to fit the widest range of settings and characters.
This is a level-less game. I felt the lack of levels removed unnecessary crunch, and allows the player to better represent their desired 'bot in a more fluid manner. XP is still earned and used to pay for things you would normally get with levels, allowing more freedom in choosing what to improve upon to better represent your character.
Anyway, before I ramble on too long, feel free to download my document, which I'm certain needs editing. Please be aware that this is what I would consider "early alpha". I have been very very busy these last couple weeks but feel I'm at a point where I need feedback. So, lemme know what you think!
