Arrgh! Mark!

First Post
(Music - American Money plays.)

*Man in silly cowboy outfit shows on screen, posing with large breasted assistant.*

Punch: Heya, Cowboys! Welcome to the new and improved Big Shot Show!

Judy: *Cute voice* Now, bigger *is* better! More bounties, more of the information, and more... *Arrow begins to point at chest*

Punch: *Interrupting* Want to make some decent money? Try the most exciting job of all! Bounty hunting! For all you newcomers, all you need is some skill at fighting and finding people, and as a new, one time offer, we'll try a new "Reality Show competition!" One team of bounty hunters will have a ship, basic starting wages and weapons supplied - whoever can catch the Big Shot! selected bounty gets it all and their trip into the big time!

Judy: *Play pistol showing at MAN in ropes* But remember - when you find them, you have to bring them in alive! *Pistol fires, little flag saying BANG! pops out*

Punch: And here they are!

Judy: *Sniffs* Oh, they look like some of the nastiest bad guys I've ever seen!

Punch: So, who's interested in playing cowboy after seeing these bad amigos?

Mmmmm Bebop. I don't know Traveller but I know what I like. The trick is how do you get everyone to say terse and pithy things every time they open their mouth? Can I play that guy from Mushroom Samba who drags the coffin all the way across town? Good scene.

Oh.... how do you play Traveller?

Obviously my geekery is not l33t enough for some people. Jeez! :D

I'm planning on Traveller T20, a d20 system. Just not in the traveller universe. Traveller is basically a system for hard-scienceish space roleplaying.

I'm new to Traveller as a general thing, so I thought some bounty hunting would be fair enough. I'm intending a fast and loose and a bit amusing style of game.

To be honest, I'm not really sure on Traveller, but I'm uncertain as to what other system to use. Traveller seems best.

I'm Arrgh! Mark! on MSN, if people are interested. Talk to me there.

Oh, and no - you can't play people from the series. Standard(ish) traveller Prior History stuff.

I'm allowing a few extra feats. Basically, to represent the brawling nature of Cowboy Bebop -

Hand-to-Hand

Prerequisite: Brawling
Benefit: Effectively, you are granted hand-to-hand damage of 1d6 subdual. Each time you take this feat, the damage dice increases to a maximum of 2d10.

Killing Strike

Prereq: Hand-to-Hand
Benefit: Effectively, you do killing damage with your hands equal to your Hand-to-Hand damage.

The game to start with will involve everyone on Ganymede hunting a reknowned murderer. for cash and an old mining vessel.

Hey, come on now.

More info required?

Well, it's more cowboy bebop style than cowboy bebop world. You still go adventuring on weird planets, taken there by a big jump-worthy starship.

And there's still smallship combat.

And there's all sorts of bounties to fail to get.

Make a post here, and then talk to me.
